There are times - alright, most of the time - that I want to pray and get my answer immediately. Kind of like a spiritual drive-thru lane. I'm not surprised to have this mindset, though. In our society, immediate gratification is glorified to an art form. Thank heavens that God is not like that! Can you imagine if pat answers and quick responses were part of God's repetoire? Most of us would be caught in shallow relationships and meaningless lives.
Instead, I'm learning to wait on God's timing. No, it's not easy, but I'm learning that it's always rewarding. 'Enduring' is the best word I've found for this. It implies a process that is built over time, one that is solid and dependable. The essence of our God. One who can be trusted with all our hopes and all our plans.
Today, as you pray, I encourage you to release the world's compulsions. Slow down and make a commitment to wait on the Lord. You will be happy you did!
Prayer parties come in all shapes and sizes, united by the intention to glorify God and unleash His power in our lives. An Open Door party gives you the opportunity to invite the women in your life into your home to share a time of prayer.
We've added a blog to stay connected between parties and share our adventures. Write to us and let us know what is happening in your life!
